PLACON CORPORATION PARTNERS WITH GLOBAL COMPANY ON NEW RECYCLED PETE (RPET) CAPABILITIES IN CHINA

(MADISON, WI) – (April 13, 2009) – Placon Corporation, a Madison, Wis.-based design and thermoform packaging company, partners with multi-national brand owners to produce recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) packaging for personal care items at Placon’s Suzhou, China production facility.

Placon has the ability to service its customers with the EcoStar™ line of PETE material solutions on two continents. “Our North American customers have long appreciated our EcoStarTM material and thermoform packaging solutions, including our flagship EcoStar™ PC50 which contains 50% post-consumer recycled PETE as well as our new HS 1000 heat sealable PETE. Now we can provide that for our global customers as well” says Laura Stewart, Vice President Sales & Marketing.

Companies not only care about the people who use their products but also the environment. They are looking for product security and recycled content. Placon’s packaging contributes to their goal of waste reduction and the RPET package can be recycled again.
