The proper scale of packaging to product is our goal. Reuse Packaging: Placon is the leader in both stock and customized clamshell packaging. Hinged stock packaging made from EcoStar™ may be re-used over and over by the consumer. When the package holds multiple pieces of the same product - like fasteners, office supplies or craft items - the package becomes the primary dispenser. Many consumers value the ability to use the product clamshell packaging as an organizer or storage box.
Recycle(able): More than a decade ago, Placon recognized that the future of packaging would evolve toward eco-friendly materials. Placon’s EcoStar™ RPET materials provide a proven eco-friendly alternative. EcoStar™ HS1000 is a drop in replacement for PVC providing RF sealing capabilities. EcoStar™ PC50 consists of 50% post consumer and 35% post industrial for a total of 85% recycled contact. Both offer unparalleled package clarity and performance without any sacrifice to structural integrity.
Renew(able): Bio-Plastics are the future. Our R&D team is working on a number of fronts toward developing and evaluating the next generation of sustainable, renewable packaging materials.
Redesign: Now is your opportunity to readdress design with sustainability in mind. It is important to take the product size, necessary graphics, and protective needs into consideration in order to minimize the required shelf space while maximizing graphics exposure.
